Op Broken Accord 06 - 2026/09/19
Situation
During OP 05, British forces destroyed the KDF positions at OBJ Bastion Alpha and OBJ Bastion Bravo. The headquarters at OBJ Bastion Bravo was captured and exploited for intelligence before the position was destroyed. At OBJ Pike, British forces destroyed the long-range surface-to-air missile system and its associated radar. The suspected KGC safehouse at OBJ Veil was found to house personnel but no senior leadership. Planning files recovered from the headquarters indicate that a KDF forward operating base controls the approach to Airfield Kuna. The position is designated OBJ Gatekeeper.
OBJ Gatekeeper forms a forward blocking position intended to prevent British forces from advancing towards the airfield. The surrounding urban area has been cleared of civilians and prepared for defence. KDF checkpoints, patrols and garrisons occupy the position and the ground between it and Airfield Kuna. The density of these forces makes Gatekeeper the principal obstacle to a subsequent assault on the airfield. Unless cleared and held, the position will continue to deny a secure route north-east and allow the KDF to contest any advance.
A photograph recovered from OBJ Veil identifies KGC commander Bashir Gedi as the brother of Defence Cabinet Secretary Yusuf Gedi. This provides a direct familial link between Yusuf's access to government and KDF resources and Bashir's control of KGC personnel and operations. Taken with the known sequence of events, it is assessed as likely that their respective seizures of authority were coordinated rather than separate developments.
Current assessment suggests that Yusuf encouraged General Malik Omar to use the KGC for operations the KDF could not acknowledge. As the KGC became more difficult to control and Omar moved to sever the relationship, Yusuf and Bashir likely accelerated their plans. The peace talks and proposed investigation and dissolution of the KGC threatened both brothers' positions, providing the immediate trigger for Bashir's seizure of the KGC and Yusuf's subsequent assumption of de facto authority over the remaining government.
Analysis of government records, KDF activity and known KGC movements has identified two commercial properties in the region owned by Bashir Gedi. Their current use and occupants are unconfirmed, but both are assessed as possible active or abandoned KGC premises. The properties are designated OBJ Lantern Alpha and OBJ Lantern Bravo. Securing and exploiting both sites may recover intelligence on the Gedi brothers' locations, resources and command network, providing a route to their capture.
Acknowledgements
- Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification images.
- Operations will begin at first light and continue into daylight.
- The urban area at OBJ Gatekeeper has been cleared of civilians. Civilian presence around OBJ Lantern Alpha, OBJ Lantern Bravo and the approach routes has not been excluded.
- Residual air-defence assets nested deeper into KDF territory may remain operational but degraded.
Commanders intent
The intent of this operation is to seize and hold OBJ Gatekeeper in order to remove the KDF forward operating base blocking the north-east route to Airfield Kuna. Concurrently, OBJ Lantern Alpha and OBJ Lantern Bravo are to be secured and exploited for intelligence on Yusuf and Bashir Gedi and their command network. Success will establish a secure position and route for a major assault on Airfield Kuna while developing intelligence that may enable the capture of one or both Gedi brothers.
