Op Broken Accord 04 - 2026/09/05

Situation

During OP 03, British forces deployed to Al Nabq after intercepted communications indicated that a concealed KGC team intended to intercept General Malik Omar at the location selected for his planned meeting with Defence Cabinet Secretary Yusuf Gedi. Omar and his escort were killed before 40 Commando reached the area. A phone recovered from the KGC hold point confirmed that the team had prepared charges to destroy the bodies, vehicles and remaining evidence. Kamira Renewal weapons, armbands and papers had been planted inside a nearby government safehouse to attribute the murder to Renewal, while KGC spotters remained in the area to observe.

Exploitation at OBJ Mandate also confirmed the death of KGC commander Jabir Musa. CCTV footage recovered from Dayr Hafir shows KGC personnel killing Musa, while separate footage records 40 Commando discovering his body. Communications recovered from the KDF headquarters contained a statement from the individual known as "Bashir" admitting that his men killed Musa and declaring that he had assumed command of the KGC. The same exchange showed Bashir issuing instructions to KDF personnel and threatening a commander who questioned his authority.

Continued exploitation of the KDF communications network has identified several storage locations near Jableh assessed to contain support equipment and munitions for long-range anti-ship and anti-air systems. The precise distribution and serviceability of the equipment at each location remain unknown. Associated reporting identifies fixed radar sites outside the town and mobile launch elements operating between prepared positions. If the equipment is dispersed or brought into operation, it could threaten British aviation, naval assets and movement required for subsequent operations. The storage locations and active air-defence elements must therefore be neutralised before the hostile command structure can employ them.

The same network has narrowed Aden's location to the area surrounding Elkorum and Al Jaala. Current assessment indicates that he went into hiding after Noor's death and the collapse of lawful government communications. Hostile KDF elements are preparing to isolate both towns and conduct door-to-door searches. Recovered planning indicates that, if captured, Aden will be moved south-east to the civilian airfield at Al Safyrah and flown out of the region. The conspirators intend to use his authority and credentials to gain access to government funds and foreign aid accounts. British forces must locate and recover Aden from his safehouse before the KDF search reaches him. Recovery at the safehouse is strongly preferred to an attempt to intercept him after capture, either during movement to Al Safyrah or at the airfield itself.

Yusuf Gedi now exercises de facto authority over the remaining government following the deaths of President Noor and Omar and the disappearance of Aden. Bashir has killed Musa and taken control of the KGC. Reporting from Dayr Hafir and subsequent network exploitation confirms that KGC personnel and KDF elements supporting the coup are sharing orders, communications and military infrastructure. The KDF remains fragmented however it appears a majority of forces are consolidating around Yusuf Gedi

The 30 August special edition of The Kamiran Star describes the British action at Dayr Hafir as an attack against an ancient town and alleges that 49 civilians, 51 military personnel, 27 government employees and six journalists were killed. It claims British forces used incendiary weapons against entrenched KDF personnel, killed journalist Emmanuel Marcon with a Javelin missile and killed KGC spokesman Zafir Duhar while he defended the town. The paper places the deaths of President Samir Noor, General Malik Omar and Jabir Musa alongside the disappearance of Foreign Affairs Minister Idris Aden, presents the resulting breakdown in government as the country's first such crisis since the 1995 coup and reports that Yusuf Gedi will address the country. The casualty figures and allegations against British forces remain uncorroborated. The reporting is assessed to be an attempt to conceal KDF-KGC activity at Dayr Hafir, portray British forces as an invading power and prepare public support for Yusuf's assumption of emergency authority.

Acknowledgements

  • Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification images.
  • Operations will begin at shortly before sunrise.
  • The number, location and condition of weapons at the OBJ Vault sites have not been confirmed. Each site must be searched before demolition or withdrawal.
  • Long-range munitions and associated propellants may produce major secondary explosions.
  • Civilians remain present in Jableh, Elkorum, Al Jaala and around the civilian airfield at Al Safyrah.
  • Aden's exact safehouse is unknown. Hostile KDF elements are expected to enter Elkorum and Al Jaala and conduct door-to-door searches.

Commanders intent

The intent of this operation is to deny coup-aligned KDF-KGC forces the strategic weapons required to threaten British air and maritime freedom of movement. Success will remove the immediate long-range threat around Jableh, recover Idris Aden before he can be captured and escorted out of the region and preserve freedom of action for subsequent operations.
