Op Toxon 07 - 2026/06/13
Situation
Following the capture of Layth Rahmani and exploitation of material recovered from his network, intelligence now confirms LRK had established a controlled route from Faysh Khabur toward Al Salman. Rahmani’s reporting indicates the destination was not the town itself, but the Northern Airbase outside Al Salman, with drivers kept away from the final route until the last checkpoint. At least one of the three suspected cargo vehicles has now been tracked to the Al Salman area, raising the likelihood that the remaining vehicles are also en-route to the very same checkpoint but trailing further behind.
To isolate the suspected vehicles before they can reach Al Salman or disperse into nearby civilian traffic, UKSF assets operating in the region have caused a vehicle incident north of the checkpoint, temporarily halting movement along the road past the military checkpoint. Previous reporting confirms the chemical load has been transferred from identifiable drums into civilian-looking gas containers and mixed with normal fuel and cooking supplies, making visual confirmation unreliable. Vehicles will need to be checked individually while minimising collateral damage and avoiding unnecessary escalation with civilian traffic. Elements should remain alert for LRK members dismounting from escort, spotter, or command vehicles that may not appear cargo-capable, particularly if the convoy attempts to break contact and bypass the checkpoint. It is assessed as highly likely that once British forces begin searching through civilian traffic, LRK personnel in the region will recognise the interdiction attempt and respond with a local QRF, either to recover the cargo or create enough disruption for the suspected vehicles to escape.
LRK access to the North Eastern Airfield, combined with the movement and sale of Stinger systems, drones, and associated convoy equipment to unknown buyers, makes the site a likely central node for the next stage of the network’s activity. Before a direct assault on the airfield can be conducted, the four-way junction north of Al Salman and south of the airfield must be secured to open a controlled approach, prevent reinforcement or withdrawal, and reduce the risk of friendly forces being cut off during the follow-on clearance. The airfield should be treated as capable of storing weapons and chemical material separately, receiving aircraft or buyers, and supporting hostile air defence activity, including MANPADS or a concealed mobile AA platform.
All objectives in the Al Salman region carry a secondary intelligence priority. Qasim al-Haddad, also known as Abu Sabr, is now confirmed as the senior leader of LRK and assessed to be the central authority behind its smuggling, finance, cargo movement, and militia coordination network. Current reporting places him in or operating through the Al Salman region, removed from exposed routes while issuing orders through Rahmani, Darwish, and other trusted intermediaries. Any documents, devices, route notes, ledgers, detainee reporting, or personal effects linked to Abu Sabr are to be recovered and exploited to support follow-on action against LRK’s remaining command structure.
Acknowledgements
- Operating elements should expect irregular contact with ambushes and sudden engagements rather than defined frontline.
- Local security forces and authorities may be compromised or report our presence, limiting operational secrecy.
- Civilian presence is dense in and around towns, increasing the likelihood of militia blending into populated areas.
- Civilian sentiment may vary by area and/or city, with some populations tolerant or hostile to our presence.
Commanders intent
Intent of the following operation is to interdict LRK’s suspected chemical convoy before it reaches Al Salman, secure any recovered chemical material, and prevent LRK from recovering or deploying the cargo. Follow-on forces will secure the junction north of Al Salman and assault the Northern Airfield, with all objectives prioritising recovery of intelligence on Qasim al-Haddad / Abu Sabr possible location or exfiltration plans.
