Situation

PJHQ confirms the successful recovery of one British diplomat during OBJ Waterloo, however, Michael Shaw was confirmed to be in SLA hands. Captured and moved by retreating SLA elements following the collapse of their positions at OBJ Whitehowl, Shaw and several civilian detainees have since been localised by ISTAR within two target buildings at OBJ Herald. The SLA is assessed to be prioritising the security of these high-value individuals to serve as leverage or a deterrent against further UK and Finnish intervention.

Over the past 12 hours, SLA forces have significantly reinforced their defensive posture within the sector designated OBJ Northwind. Intelligence indicates the extremists have entrenched themselves as much as possible, establishing hardened fighting positions and interlocking fields of fire in a concerted effort to create a static blocking line along the MSR and surrounding built up areas.

Significant electronic emissions have been detected originating from the vicinity of OBJ Icegrid within the last two hours. The nature of these signals is currently uncharacterised and differs sharply from standard SLA communication patterns observed throughout the current conflict. Recovery of the equipment at OBJ Icegrid is a vital intelligence priority to identify the cause of this shift in signal output and assess any potential changes in enemy technical capabilities.

The status of the Sahrani Government delegation, including Daniel Ortiz and Luis Martin Diaz, remains a primary intelligence gap. While current focus remains on the immediate rescue of British nationals, SIGINT suggests that high-ranking members of the delegation may have been moved toward the coast under heavy guard. Locating these individuals is critical to prevent the SLA from using the delegation to delegitimise the standing Sahrani Government on the international stage.

Commanders intent

Operational intent is to engage and fix SLA forces in and around the town of Haavisto while dismantling their logistics infrastructure to prevent further consolidation in the north. Decisive action at OBJ Northwind Alpha will draw, fix, and disrupt entrenched elements, denying their ability to reinforce or respond effectively, thereby creating the conditions for 40 Commando to conduct a coordinated raid behind enemy lines to recover the remaining British diplomat. Intelligence on his location will be rapidly exploited to enable safe recovery as a key strategic objective. Success will degrade SLA combat effectiveness in the area, fracture local command cohesion, and set conditions for continued offensive operations.
