Bio:
Lavrencij Krečič was born in Ptuj in 1979 to a family entrenched in local politics, his mother worked in a mill and ran a union while his father travelled across the SFR to attend meetings with bureaucrats and party officials. From a young age he studied hard, and was seen as a star student, but the troubles within Yugoslavia continued to ignite. At only 16 he was forced to defend his family home from looters, and after surviving the resulting fire, forced to abandon it. He spent half a decade finding a new normal, embracing his family's legacy, he founded a new political party. Founded in 1999, Nova Obzorja would sweep the farms and towns of eastern Slovenia, in 2000 they would be the spearhead of a renewed independence campaign for Novihrastova, and in 2002 would win their first election.
The populist reforms, targeted at farmers, made ambitious and unfulfillable promises. The culmination of two years of propaganda levied directly at their voters being the 2004 declaration of independence. His dealings with Russia and Serbia, sponsored by mutual contacts within his own party and emboldened by his infamous flight to Moscow in 2004, would result in a political distaster for Slovenia. His new nation would rapidly change, tasking his ministers with growth in all sectors and stability at all costs. He would govern with an omnipresent iron fist.
In 2012, after a recession caused by falling grain prices, he would lose the election and spiral into contempt and anger. He spend eight years tasking his shadow cabinet with drawing up plans, all while sabotaging the incumbent Liberal Workers Party President. His efforts would bear fruit as the 2020 election ended in a devastating defeat for the LWP. With four years of guaranteed power now at his fingertips, he set about transforming Novihrastova into his vision of a better country.
