Bio:
Born in Ljubljana to a poor family in the twilight years of the SFR of Yugoslavia, Gradišnik learned to fight dirty in order to survive - conducting ambushes on unsuspecting victims, he would keep himself and his family afloat as the nation he was born in collapsed under the pressure of simmering ethnic tensions. Eventually his ill-gotten gains would pay off, and he was able to purchase a farmhouse in eastern Slovenia, moving himself and his family to the new environment. He began work as an assistant to a local politician soon after, leveraging connections within the criminal underworld to find a man willing to pay handsomely for discreet work. His time within the corrupt politics of post-independence Ptuj slowly radicalised him, the 'Farming Labourers Party' that dominated was weak and abominable in his eyes. He found a new job, assisting a new politician, one with views that aligned near perfectly with his own.
He played a small but vital role in the campaign for independence, seeing himself as a true son of Novihrastova - an identity he could latch on to - he cracked down on behalf of his new master, forming the Black Revolution wing of the Nova Obzorja party and taking to the streets to battle those who 'slandered' the party. His street ambushes became renowned, studied by his underlings and deployed across the territory, they became the most vital piece of the paramilitary strategy in Nova Obzorja. The independence movements success often boiled down by historians into a game of ambushes and lies.
His loyalty and success proved to the new President that he could handle the pressure that came with building an army, he focused on a small corps at first, gradually snowballing it into a modern fighting force as he added planes, tanks, helicopters and artillery of all kinds into the stockpile. His deals, struck with European military megaproducers secured a steady supply of armaments into the nation to arm and equip the small defence corps. With the defeat at the ballots in 2012, Nova Obzorja and Gradišnik himself entered into a period of planning and waiting. For eight long years they waited patiently for the tides to turn.
With their re-election, they can now focus on expanding the army, training the army and utilising the army. Gradišnik has already signed off on major deployments across Novihrastova, new deals have been struck and plans drawn up in case of invasion. He believes he is ready, and he yearns to put his plans to the test.
