Op White Orchid 08 - 2025/08/16

Situation

WIPWith the capture of the Moreno brothers, President Mendoza-Rivera, and ‘Anibal’ Zapata, Hugo Aguilar has emerged as the de facto head of both the Chucomayo Cartel and its military wing. Leveraging his reputation as a seasoned guerrilla commander, Aguilar has consolidated what remains of their fractured forces, assuming near-total control of cartel, paramilitary, and state security assets. Following the sudden leadership shift, Aguilar has gone to ground. Based on intelligence from recently captured HVTs, Colombian Dirección Nacional de Inteligencia reporting, and observed cartel movements, three probable hideouts have been identified:

  1. Primary Cartel Safehouse – A fortified residence used extensively by the Moreno brothers for high-level meetings.

  2. Secondary Fallback Safehouse – Blended into civilian activity, used as an emergency refuge by senior cartel members.

  3. Military Civilian Housing Compound – An inconspicuous site within a military-controlled zone, providing civilian cover with extremely close military support and personnel

In parallel, the joint cartel–military alliance is mounting a desperate counter stroke. In a bid to claw back lost ground and exact revenge on the Colombians, they have launched sustained attacks on the Colombian-owned southern airfield. Enemy forces have begun probing the airfield’s perimeter, targeting key defensive positions with indirect fire while massing combat elements to assault from the north and west.

Simultaneously, ISR assets have confirmed a significant drawdown of enemy troops from the central airfield previously disrupted by 40 Commando. These forces are now reinforcing defensive belts in the south, securing roadways for logistic convoys and strengthening both military installations and cartel safehouses in the region. The shifting posture suggests an attempt to establish a defensible fortified positions around Aguilar’s presumed location — or potentially a calculated ruse intended to draw our forces into a set-piece engagement while Aguilar slips the net and escapes the region entirely.

Acknowledgements

  • Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification.
  • Civilian population are neutral to our activities, though it is likely members of the cartel are among the population.
  • Police, while government-funded and cartel-controlled, appear to heavily support the local population. While not overtly hostile, they are unlikely to assist us in anyway and will most likely report our positions if detected.
  • Columbian intelligence operatives have been operating in the region against the cartel. We haven't been read into their ongoing operations or locations, keep an eye out and check fire against operatives and/or teams that may be in the region.

Commanders intent

The current phase of Operation White Orchid focuses on exploiting actionable intelligence—especially through vehicle tracking—to locate and eliminate all viable high-value targets (HVTs) within the Chucomayo Cartel’s leadership and military structure. Our objective is to strike with speed and precision, using real-time intel to disrupt cartel command-and-control and dismantle critical leadership elements before they can recover or mount a coordinated response.

Our approach will exploit the cartel’s overconfidence and operational overstretch, ensuring that every engagement compounds their disarray. Civilian impact will remain minimised, but we anticipate resistance as cartel forces retreat toward bigger population centres and attempt to shield their leadership. The end state is a battlespace shaped for decisive follow-up operations against the remaining leadership cadre, with cartel command fractured and unable to re-establish cohesive control.
